How it works

    PDF, DOCX, or TXT. Text is extracted with Ethiopic script preserved. Scanned pages are not read — there is no OCR.

    Embed the widget or call /ask

    One script tag on your site, or a text API. Origins are allowlisted. Empty allowlist denies all.

    Grounded answer or a human

    If retrieval is below 0.72, or the JSON gate fails, callers hear the handover line and can reach a person.

Why HahuAi

    Voice uses Gemini STT for am-ET, ti-ET, and en-US. The UI loads Noto Sans Ethiopic.

  • Answers only from your documents, with citations

    Hard 0.72 cutoff, then structured {answerable, answer, used_chunk_ids}. Citations list only used chunks.

  • Hands over to a human

    The handover line is fixed. Staff see tickets in the tenant dashboard.

  • Data stays separated. Consent first.

    Postgres row-level security per tenant. Transcripts are stored only after consent.

FAQ

What happens when HahuAi does not know?

It speaks the exact Amharic handover line and can open a human ticket. It does not invent an answer.

Can we lower the 0.72 threshold?

No. Admins cannot change it. The dashboard rejects attempts.

Do scanned PDFs work?

No. There is no OCR. Upload text PDFs, DOCX, or TXT.

Where does data live?

Per-tenant Postgres with RLS, plus object storage under tenant_id prefixes. Production target region is af-south-1.

How slow is voice?

Typical round-trip is 5–7 seconds: speech-to-text, retrieval, JSON gate, then TTS.
